What is a Pushudo?
A Pushudo is merely a web link sent from one person to another through Pushudo.com. It is pronounced phonetically as Push-oo-doe, but we won't be upset if you pronounce it otherwise!
Why would I want to use Pushudo.com?
In a nutshell, Pushudo.com was designed to improve your internet experience with the following goals:
To make it very easy and fast to send web links on the internet.
To reduce the amount of email clutter you receive.
To help you find more of the content you are interested in.
To find new and exciting sites that are becoming popular on the internet. These are often referred to as "viral" sites.
To protect your email addresses as well as those of your receivers from spammers and from malicious sites that may sell email addresses.
To dramatically lower your "barriers to send" that may inhibit you from sending a link to someone who may really enjoy it. By reducing this barrier we are hoping it will allow everyone to send more links.
We feel that we have achieved all of these goals with Pushudo.com.

What part of speech is “Pushudo”? How do I use it in a sentence?
Generally we view the word "Pushudo" as a noun and the word "push" as a verb. Therefore you would have the sentences:
"I just sent a Pushudo to Aunt Susan with a link to that great book on Amazon.com."
or
"I just pushed Aunt Susan a link of that great book on Amazon.com."
However, it is more important to us that you use the terminology than in how you actually use it. So please feel free to use the words "Pushudo" or "Push" as either a verb or a noun, and if you are more adventurous as adverbs, adjectives, pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions, or interjections. If you are even more adventurous try using them as articles. That would be impressive.

Once it is installed, simply surf the web like you normally do and when you find a link you want to push, click the Push It! button, enter the necessary information such as your recipients email addresses and an optional comment and press "Send!". You're done!
How do I receive a Pushudo?
You may receive a Pushudo in two ways:
1. If you have an account with us, simply log into your account and you will see all of the Pushudos sent to any one of your email addresses that you have attached to your username. Want to attach another one of your email addresses to your account? Click here.
2. If you do not have an account with us you can retrieve your Pushudos by going to http://www.pushudo.com/your@emailaddress.com. For example, if your email address was "your@emailaddress.com" you would goto http://www.pushudo.com/your@emailaddress.com.
Do my friends/family/colleagues need to have an account on Pushudo.com in order for me to push them links?
No! We don't feel that you should have to recruit your friends into making accounts on Pushudo.com just to share links with them! To push a link to someone who does not have a Pushudo.com account is the same as pushing to those who do. Simply enter their email address and press send. We take care of the rest!
How does sending or receiving a Pushudo work?
In a nutshell sending/receiving works like this. You send links to email addresses and receive links from usernames. Meaning if you have a friend with a Pushudo.com username of "Bob" and has an email address "your@emailaddress.com", you actually send the Pushudo to your@emailaddress.com. If you receive a Pushudo from this friend, it appears as a Pushudo sent from a user named "Bob" not from his email address "your@emailaddress.com". Pushudo.com was designed this way for security and privacy reasons so that a user's email address is never made available to your recipients or to anyone else.
Are there any URLs or websites that Pushudo.com may not work with?
Yes. You cannot push links from sites that required you to login, sites that are not open for public viewing, or sites to which our polling servers cannot contact. In the event that you send a Pushudo from a site that required you to login a Pushudo will go through but your recipient will not be able to view the page because they will not be able to login.
In our testing of Pushudo.com, we very rarely came across a few web sites with misconfigured servers that prevented our polling server from connecting and scraping the required data. When this happens, Pushudos sent from this site will fail and will not be sent. The sender will receive an error message. If this is the case, please send us a bug report so that we can ensure future compatibility with the server.
I am already signed up with Pushudo.com with an email address, but my friends keep pushing me links to another one of my email addresses. What do I do?
Pushudo.com was designed with a solution to this problem. You may attach an unlimited amount of your email addresses to your Pushudo.com account. This way, a Pushudo sent to any of the attached email addresses will end up in one convenient place: your account inbox. Want to attach another email address to your account?
Can I send someone a Pushudo through their Pushudo.com username?
No. By design you may only send Pushudos to users whose email addresses you know. This is a security precaution to prevent all users from receiving Pushudos from users that they don't actually know.
Do I have to know my friend's email address to send them a Pushudo?
Yes. It is not possible to send a Pushudo without an email address. The good news is that once you send a Pushudo to your friend, Pushudo.com remembers their email address for you and you will never have to enter it manually again.
When I send a Pushudo will the receiver be able to see my email address?
No. The receiver will only see your Pushudo.com username. Your email address is NEVER shared or made available to anyone on the internet. In order for someone to send you a Pushudo they must already know your email address.
Why can I only send a link 10 times?
Pushudo.com does not wish to be an engine for Spam or shameless site promotion for and by others. As such only allowing you to send a link 10 times will deter Spammers and Promoters from using our site for their purposes.
Do you have plans to extend this cap?
If there is a demand for a cap increase we will analyze the need against the purposes of this site. Should a cap increase be necessary, you will hear about it in our blog.

Can I turn off email notifications (unsubscribe)?
Yes, through your settings tab you may turn off notifications globally, meaning you’ll never get an email from us; your links will appear without notification. You may also configure the system to only send notifications when certain people send you Pushudos. Lastly, you may turn off email notification for specific email addresses.
Do senders know when I block them?
Aside from when the sender asks you how you liked the link they sent and you have no idea what they’re talking about, no, senders will never be notified of you blocking them.
Can I send a Pushudo more than once to a particular person?
No, this is one of the means we have implemented to deter spammers, although if you do send the same Pushudo to a particular person with a new comment, the comment will update.
Can I make my feed public/private?
Yes, through your account settings page under email settings you may switch between having a public feed and a private feed. If you decide to set your feed to public, it may be viewed at http://www.pushudo.com/youremail@address.com.
When I send a Pushudo, where does Pushudo.com get the title, description, and thumbnail of the link?
Once a link is pushed, Pushudo.com has a polling server that contacts the specified URL in the background and scrapes this data from the target site. This is done for your convenience so that you do not have to enter a title and description for every link you push, and for the benefit of other users who may also be pushing this link and may not want to use title and description data specified by another user.
Why does the title or description of a link I pushed change once I push it?
When a link is pushed for the first time, our polling server scrapes the title and description information from the website and uses that as that link's official data. Sometimes the title that the polling server receives from the url's site, may be different from the title that your browser submits to us. This often happens with image files because of the many differences between how each web browser handles the titles of images and how Pushudo.com does.
Can I specify the title of a pushed link?
Currently no, although we are exploring the possibility of making this a feature in the future.
Can I specify the description of a pushed link?
Currently no, although we are exploring the possibility of implementing this feature in the future.
Can I remove a Pushudo from my feed?
Currently no, we are looking into implementing this feature in the future.
Can I use ad-block software on your site?
Yes! A very large portion of our income is from the impressions and clicks we receive through the advertising on this site. However, we realize that a small portion of our users may dislike having to constantly look at advertising on every site they frequent and that many of these users may use ad-blocking software in their web browsers. Also we realize that a small percentage of our users may rarely, if ever, click on ads on websites. Therefore, we officially condone the use of ad-blockers on Pushudo.com and promise to not purposefully alter Pushudo.com in order to make them incompatible with such software.
However, if you do use ad-blockers on Pushudo.com we hope that you may support us in other ways if you like us.
Why did you change the URL of a link I submitted?
There are a couple of reasons why your linked would be changed, firstly, part of our business model is to receive revenues through affiliate programs, to participate in such programs we would need to enter our tag into the URL, nothing more. Secondly, we change URLs to match a standard that enable us to make our web code much more efficient.
Can I send links of a sexual/explicit nature, or ones that may be deemed “not safe for work” (NSFW)?
When you send a link, please keep in mind the tastes of the person in which you are sending the link to and whether or not they will find the content offensive. According to Pushudo.com’s Terms of Use under Section 5 Paragraph 3: You may not use Pushudo.com for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, if you are an international user you agree to comply with all local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content.
Is it okay to make more than one account?
Unless you are Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, no. To protect the efficiency of our databases our policy is one person, one account. With being able to consolidate several emails into one account, there really is no reason to have multiple accounts.
Where can I report abuses/bugs?
You may report abuses, bugs, glitches, etc to feedback@pushudo.com. You may also use our form entry at http://www.pushudo.com/feedback.
Can I use your logo or other trademarks on your page?

How does a link become popular?
A link’s popularity is calculated by a proprietary algorithm.
What is being done to protect my privacy?
We go through great lengths to protect your privacy, sometimes to our detriment. We protect your email address by never giving out your email address to anyone, even when you sign in, your address is encrypted and will be unreadable by bots and spammers.
How do you protect against SPAM?
Pushudo.com has implemented several safeguards to protect you from SPAM. Firstly, any one Pushudo can only be sent a maximum of 10 times, making the Spammer create a new login for every 10 Pushudos sent, clearly inefficient. We never give out your email address, and if you decide to make your account public, your address will be encrypted to avoid bots.
How does a link become popular?
Links gain popularity depending on how often a particular link is sent. If you want to make a link popular be sure to send it to as many other people as you can. This will increase the likelihood of a particular Pushudo becoming popular. Please note however, that attempting to "game" the system in order to arbitrarily make your links popular is against site policy and is strictly prohibited. We monitor this very closely and action will be taken against anyone who breaks this policy.
Which Pushudos are capable of becoming popular?
Every submission has the potential to become popular.
What if a link I send is private? Can I prohibit a certain link from ever becoming popular?
There is no mechanism in place to specify whether a Pushudo is capable of becoming popular or not. However, you should not be hesitant to send Pushudos that are private because our Popular Pushudos algorithm does a fairly good job of not popularizing private content unless it is shared a fair amount.
Does Pushudo.com ever censor, modify, add, or edit links that are popular?
While we reserve the right to modify, add, or edit any link for any reason, including those that are popular, we feel that it is important not to interfere needlessly with the day to day operation of the website. The moment we start to do so, Pushudo.com instantly becomes a less valuable tool to our users. While it may happen very rarely for various reasons, we are committed to not interfere with the will of the users.
I have sent a Pushudo to X number of friends but the link has still not been made popular. What is going on?
Put simply, the Popular Pushudo system does not work like this. It is a fairly sophisticated system that is constantly refined in order to provide the most valuable services to our users. No one user is capable of controlling the popularity of a particular Pushudo.
How does the Popular Pushudo system work?
A link’s popularity is calculated by a proprietary algorithm. Details regarding the Popular Pushudos algorithm is kept as a closely guarded secret.
How often does the popular pushudos list update?
The popular pushudos list can update as much as every 15 minutes depending on if there are new popular links.
What is a Quickshudo?
Quickshudos are recipients who have been pre-assigned from within your settings
page. Each Pushudo will have four Quickshudos buttons that correspond to a
different recipient. To send the already viewed Pushudo to one of these recipients,
all you have to do is click once on their corresponding button and it’ll instantly
be sent to that recipient.
How many Quickshudos am I allowed to have?
Currently you are allowed four Quickshudos. In the future if demand calls for it, we will explore adding more slots for more Quickshudo recipients.
Do you have plans to expand this cap on Quickshudos?
If future demands asks for more Quickshudo slots, we will explore that possibility.
What email addresses are allowed to become Quickshudo contacts?
Any email address in which you have already manually sent a Pushudo to, independent of whether or not they are also a registered Pushudo member.
Do Quickshudos have to be email addresses of friends?
No, a Quickshudo can be anyone with a valid email address, the only requirement is that you have sent them a Pushudo previously.
What is a nickname used for?
A nickname allows you, when sending a Quickshudo, to instead of see a long email address that takes up a lot of space, to simply see a custom name that has meaning to you.
Does the contact know what I put for their nickname?
No, unless they are looking over your shoulder. The purpose of the nickname is to allow you to simply see a custom name that has meaning to you, rather than a long email address.
Can I enter a comment for a Quickshudo?
No, the point of a Quickshudo is to allow you to send a link to someone with only one click. If you want to send that person a Pushudo with a comment, you can use the Push It button.
How do I send a Pushudo to a contact not on my Quickshudo list?
You can send a Pushudo to anyone who is not on your Quickshudo list through two methods. You can use the Push it bookmarklet that you placed on your web browser to push the current website you are on, or you can use the Push It button from within Pushudo.com to push that particular link.
